Privacy policy

Draft for the pre-launch waitlist and host recruitment. It will be reviewed by a legal professional before lessons open. The Korean version prevails.

K-SeoulMate ("we") collects only what is needed to run the pre-launch waitlist and to recruit Korean hosts, in line with the Korean Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).

1. What we collect

Who	Information	Why
Learners (waitlist)	Name, email, country, age band, native language, Korean level, goal, preferred host type, preferred times and time zone, optional news consent. For under-18s: parent/guardian name and email, and guardian consent for under-14s.	Inviting you at launch, matching you with suitable hosts, planning host recruitment.
Host applicants	Name, email, mobile number, birth year, gender (optional), city, host type, Korean-teacher certificate level, experience, languages, available hours, topics, self-introduction, optional video link, willingness to consent to a record check.	Reviewing applications, contacting you for ID check and interview, building your profile.

We do not collect resident registration numbers, ID card images or payment details in this phase. Technical data (IP address and browser type) is used briefly to prevent spam.

2. Children

For learners under 14 we collect information only with the consent of a parent or legal guardian (PIPA Article 22-2), and we contact the guardian. Learners under 18 are matched only with Kids-safe Teachers.

3. How long we keep it

Waitlist: until launch plus 1 year, or until you ask us to delete it.
Host applications: while you are a host; if not selected, 6 months after the decision.

4. Where it is stored (transfer abroad)

Data is stored on Google Cloud in the Seoul region (Republic of Korea). Notification emails to our staff are sent through Google Workspace (Google LLC, USA), which may process data outside Korea. Recipient: Google LLC; items: the form contents; purpose: storage and staff notification; period: as in section 3. You may refuse this transfer by not submitting the form.

5. Sharing

We do not sell or share your information with third parties in this phase. When booking opens, we will tell you about payment and video providers before you use them.

6. Your rights

You can ask to see, correct, delete or stop the use of your information at any time by emailing master@bkai.co.kr. We will reply within 10 days.

7. Security

Data is kept in a private storage bucket with access limited to authorised staff, transmitted over HTTPS, and admin access is password-protected.
