Host questions

I am not a teacher. Can I still join?

Yes — as a Conversation Buddy. Learners want natural conversation with ordinary Koreans. You only need to be 19+, friendly and reliable.

How much can I earn?

You keep 80% of your price. Example: a $10 Buddy session pays you $8 (in won, before tax). A $25 Teacher lesson pays you $20.

How are taxes handled?

Payouts are planned as freelance (business) income with 3.3% withholding, and we will issue the required statements. Details will be confirmed before launch.

Do I need to speak English?

Not necessarily. Many learners want to practise only in Korean. Foreign languages help with beginners, so please list any you speak.

Can I teach children?

Only Teachers with the Kids-safe badge (ID check, criminal record check consent, certificate or experience) can be matched with learners under 18.

When does it start?

We are recruiting founding hosts now and plan to open booking after the pilot setup. We will keep you updated by email.
